Walkenhorst confirms N24hr line up as Jordan Pepper joins the team

David Pittard and Christian Krognes were joined by new team mate for the NLS5 6hr, South African Bentley Factory driver Jordan Pepper made his debut with the Walkenhorst BMW in preparation for the N24hrs.

Drama unfolded before the weekend started as Norwegian travel laws announced on the Wednesday of race week were coming into place Saturday morning, meaning Christian had to reschedule his flight to make it back in time to avoid quarantine restrictions, meaning David and Jordan would take on the 6hr together.

“After a successful day testing on Friday, we decided to make a big set up change to try before the 24hrs. With Chris going home and it being Jordan’s first time in the car, our main aim was to make sure Jordan got track time to learn the car and the race before the N24hrs as it had been a while since he driven in the NLS”

David would qualify the #34 car P7 and  start the race also. David made a rather disastrous start having to start on the inside of the grid meaning he dropped as low as P13 by the end of the 1st lap and stuck behind a number of inexperienced teams and drivers.
An early pitstop to get out of the traffic and get Jordan into the car to maximise his driving time saw the car running around the top10.

Jordan would do a great job to navigate through the GT3 traffic making up time and showing great speed which was very promising for the N24hrs. After a double stint, David would jump in once again for an uneventful stint, before jumping in again at the end of the race to chase down the Schnitzer BMW for a P8 finish.

“With our closest championship rivals making a DNF at the 6hrs, even though it was our worst result of the season, we still extended our championship lead. Even though the pace and result was disappointing, I think we ticked our objectives of pre race weekend, trying another set up option and making sure that Jordan was well upto speed with plenty of tracktime in the car before the big race. I think we’re fulling prepared and I can’t wait to get going!”
