Wilson & Pittard seal Masters Historic Stela Line Gentlemen Drivers series in style!

Luxembourg racer Graham Wilson & British young gun David Pittard wrapped up the  Masters Historic Stela Line Gentlemen Drivers series in style with a perfect weekend at the Portuguese circuit of Estoril! The little Lotus Elan 26R set overall pole position, overall fastest lap and won overall the 3hr race!

After testing was cut short due to fog and rain, it was almost straight into qualifying for Wilson & Pittard in the Elan where David placed the car on P1 overall in the dying minutes of the 45min session to give the #13 car the best possible position going into turn 1 for the 3hr race on Sunday.

With Wilson starting, after being out dragged into turn 1 by the thundering Daytona Cobra and a few laps later passed by 2 other Cobras, Wilson held a top 4 position for most of his 90min stint whilst under big pressure from the #79 Mark Martin/Andrew Haddon Elan, a great drive under great pressure.

A fantastic pitstop from Wolfe Engineering saw the car emerge with one of the quickest pitstops to close the gap to the Cobras. While the Cobras pitted and fuelled the Elan breezed passed 2 while on track and passed the final Cobra for the overall lead while it was on its outlap. After then David controlled the gap to 2nd place and took the flag with a 20sec gap! The perfect way to wrap up the title!

“A huge thanks to Graham and Andy Wolfe for taking me onboard this year, its great to see Graham beating his times from last year throughout the season and I love driving these historic and iconic cars! As for this weekend, its literally been perfect, the car has run faultlessly and we achieved the home run of race weekends!”
